
SHARON GENTRY
Senior Consultant
Sharon is a strong program management professional with experience in nonprofit organizations, team building, public speaking, change management, higher education, healthcare information technology (HIT), and software development life cycle (SDLC). She has a long track record of successfully leading enterprise-wide projects, building teams, developing boards, and convening and facilitating conversations with groups ranging in size from five to more than 500.

Sharon has served on the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools Board of Education since August of 2008 where, through performance monitoring, policy development and a $794M budget, she supports 86,000 students and 6000 employees. During her time as chair of the board, she helped navigate the recruitment and selection of a new Director of Schools, in a unique partnership with the nonprofit community and the Mayor’s office.
Sharon has held various leadership roles over 20 years with a Fortune 100 healthcare organization where currently serves as the director for clinical informatics facility integration and leadership development. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Sharon holds B.S. degrees in physics and chemistry, a master’s in mechanical engineering, and a doctorate in higher education administration. Sharon is an alum of Leadership Nashville, a member of Fisk University’s Business Advisory Board, co-chair of the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America Scout Reach Committee, and recent member of Vanderbilt University’s Visiting Advisory Board for Diversity, Inclusion & Equity. Sharon enjoys reading, fitness activities and cooking.
